[AO365UG] Adelaide Office 365 User Group – September Newsletter

Greetings and Salutations,

Thank you for everyone who attended last month’s meeting and a big thank you to Shakir Khan for his presentation Power Virtual Agent and Bot Framework Composer in Teams. At this month’s Adelaide Office 365 User Group meeting, we have Asish Padhy from Microsoft presenting “Microsoft Viva: the concept and practical business approach”. Participants will gain an understanding of Microsoft Viva offerings with comparative view of them (Learning vs Connection vs Topics vs Insights) and how it corresponds to business requirements that an organisation might have. This will be an envisioning presentation where organisational managers, sponsors, architects and even developers will get an overview idea of Microsoft Viva concepts and business implementation approach.

  • Microsoft Viva has set the next stage of Collaboration Evolution, where users don’t have to go look or search for information anymore, but information/knowledge actually comes to them. Yes, correct, information and knowledge is made available to users on their fingertips. So, how does this happen? What is the magic behind it? Let’s explore these questions and some practical concepts of setting this new step-up for your organisation. In this session, we will look what Viva Suite looks like, comparatively look at its features and various products from a practical business approach and implementation viewpoint.

Participants will gain an understanding of Microsoft Viva offerings with comparative view of them (Learning vs Connection vs Topics vs Insights) and how it corresponds to business requirements that an organisation might have. Asish is a Microsoft certified Professional/Architect and Consultant for Microsoft 365, Azure and Cloud Platforms. He has worked for many major multinational companies and has 15+ years of experience in Enterprise Collaboration and Integration Solutions. Asish now specializes in architecting solutions in Microsoft 365, Azure and Cloud platforms and works for Microsoft Australia.

Internet Explorer 11 Support Ending

Well, that’s its folks, Internet Explorer 11 has now been retired and support for M365 and O365 for IE11 has ended on 17th of August, 2021.

There are many organisations, business, groups and other entities which still have a dependency on IE11 for another applications.

If you have not deployed a modern browser such as Microsoft Edge, now is the time to start to prepare and get it on your task list as eventually, everyone will be affected and need a modern browser to continue to user the 365-product family.

SharePoint 2010 Support ended!

SharePoint 2010 Support has ended from Microsoft on April 13, 2021.

The following products are now NOT supported by Microsoft and you should look at migrating as soon as possible:

  • SharePoint Foundation 2010
  • SharePoint Server 2010
  • Project Server 2010
